Nine people were wounded in Bnei Brak on Tuesday when Iranian cluster bomb munitions from a ballistic missile struck the central Israeli city, as Iran fired a barrage of missiles throughout the day in one of the heaviest responses in the ongoing conflict.

According to Magen David Adom (ambulance service), the wounded included a 23-year-old man in moderate condition and eight others – among them six children and a woman in her eighties – who were lightly injured by blast or shrapnel. Residents described a terrifying boom and seeing shards and smoke in the street after taking shelter.

Other bomblets struck Petah Tikva, Givat Shmuel, and Rosh Haayin, causing damage but no physical injuries. The attacks triggered repeated air raid sirens across central and southern Israel, with additional salvos overnight into Wednesday affecting areas near Jerusalem, central Israel, and Eilat.

The cluster munition strike came as the Israel Defense Forces announced it had struck a key Iranian explosives production facility near Isfahan. The IDF described the site as Iran’s “main” explosives production facility, used for various weapons, and noted it had been targeted during the June 2025 war but later restored by Iran.

Iran’s atomic energy organization accused the US and Israel of attacking the Bushehr nuclear power plant, claiming a projectile had landed within its compound but caused no damage. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed Iran had informed it of the incident, with Director General Rafael Grossi reiterating calls for maximum restraint to avoid nuclear safety risks.

Meanwhile, an Iranian missile attack on Bahrain killed a Moroccan civilian contractor working for the Emirati military, with five other personnel wounded. Kuwait reported a drone targeting a fuel tank at its international airport, causing a fire but no casualties.

The day’s attacks represent a significant escalation, with Iran responding to ongoing US-Israeli strikes aimed at degrading its nuclear and ballistic missile capabilities. The conflict, which began on February 28, 2026, has seen both sides targeting military and, increasingly, civilian infrastructure.

In Bnei Brak, first responders treated the wounded and inspected damage, with dramatic footage showing emergency activity around the impacted areas. No widespread fire was reported on the aircraft or ground targets in Israel, but the psychological impact on residents – especially children – has been significant.

The IDF has continued its air campaign, dropping bombs on Iranian targets including ballistic missile launch sites, weapon production facilities, and air defence systems. Early on Wednesday (today), a new wave of strikes have targeted regime infrastructure in Tehran.
