Hansi Flick has been named LaLiga Coach of the Season for 2025/26, marking his second consecutive triumph and cementing his status as one of the most successful coaches in the club’s recent history.

FC Barcelona announced the honour on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, celebrating the German tactician’s remarkable impact since taking charge in the summer of 2024.

The award comes after another dominant campaign in which Flick guided Barcelona to back-to-back LaLiga titles. The team clinched the 2025/26 crown with games to spare, highlighted by a decisive victory over Real Madrid in El Clásico. Under Flick, Barcelona have re-established themselves as Spain’s clearest force, blending attacking flair with tactical discipline and consistency.

When Flick arrived at Camp Nou, the club was in transition. Financial constraints, squad rebuilding and questions over identity followed the departure of Xavi Hernández. What unfolded was a swift and impressive revival. In his debut 2024/25 season, he delivered a domestic treble – LaLiga, Copa del Rey and Supercopa de España, while turning Barcelona into one of Europe’s most entertaining and high-pressing sides. The team scored over 100 league goals that season and reasserted dominance over domestic rivals.

The 2025/26 season brought sustained excellence: another league title, a second Supercopa, and continued attacking brilliance. Barcelona amassed strong points totals, set club records for scoring runs, and maintained an impressively high win rate. Across his first two seasons, Flick’s teams have posted win percentages among the best in club history, with hundreds of goals scored and multiple Manager of the Month awards.

Flick’s tactical approach, high-intensity pressing, fluid attacking patterns and clear structure, has revitalised veterans like Robert Lewandowski while unlocking the potential of young talents such as Lamine Yamal, Pedri and Pau Cubarsí. His ability to impose belief quickly and foster an attractive yet effective style has won over the dressing room and the fanbase. Supporters frequently credit him with “sending rivals home” in key matches, particularly against Real Madrid.

Beyond results on the pitch, Flick’s calm, communicative personality has been a key factor. He has built strong relationships with players and staff, turning sceptics into believers in a short space of time. His success follows a decorated spell at Bayern Munich, where he won multiple Bundesliga titles and the Champions League. He remains undefeated in major finals as a head coach.

Following the latest LaLiga success, Flick signed a contract extension until 2028, with options for further years, signalling long-term stability at the club. Barcelona’s board and supporters see him as the architect of a new golden era. As one fan reacted to the award announcement: “Flick came in, fixed everything and made it look easy. Proper manager.”

While European success has been more elusive so far, domestic dominance has been unquestionable. Flick’s back-to-back Coach of the Season awards reflect consistent excellence at a club with sky-high expectations. As Barcelona prepares for the 2026/27 season, attention will turn to whether this momentum can finally deliver long-awaited Champions League glory.
