Nigerian Air Force Conducts Precision Strikes on Terrorist Hideouts in Borno State
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has carried out sustained air strikes on terrorist positions in Borno State, destroying hideouts and support structures in the Sambisa Forest axis and contributing to the apprehension of several insurgents.
According to a statement released on May 26, 2026, the Air Component of Operation HADIN KAI executed precision strikes on identified terrorist facilities at Biramiri in the Gezuwa general area. The operation was based on credible intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance reports. The strikes destroyed key infrastructure and neutralised several fighters, further weakening the operational capacity of the terrorists.
The NAF noted that the intensity of the ongoing air campaign has created fear and confusion among terrorist elements, restricting their freedom of movement and denying them safe havens. The operations are being conducted in close coordination with ground troops of Operation HADIN KAI and other security agencies.
The Nigerian Air Force reiterated its commitment to maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist networks in the North-East while protecting civilian lives and supporting efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region.
This latest action forms part of the military’s continued counter-terrorism efforts against groups such as Boko Haram and ISWAP, which have maintained a presence in parts of Borno State despite years of sustained military efforts.
