Afro Nation Portugal Names 2027 Headliners

Afro Nation Portugal will come back to the beach at Praia da Rocha in Portimão from 9 to 11 June 2027 with Davido, Fally Ipupa and Rema as the first names at the top of the bill.

The Wednesday announcement also pulls the dates forward by about a month from the July slots of recent years and spreads roughly thirty acts across three stages, with an opening party on 8 June and a closing night on the 12th.

Organizers called the trio “three giants of African music,” and all three have played this Algarve meeting before. The festival, which first arrived in Portimão in 2019, sells itself as the world’s largest gathering of Afrobeats, amapiano and African music and culture, and it now draws more than 40,000 people from over 180 countries. It is for adults only; identification is required at the gate.

The Lit Stage will carry the headliners and a supporting list that already includes Omah Lay, Victony, Shenseea, Valiant, Odeal, Rayvanny, Bamby, Miimii KDS and the South Gidi live project associated with DJ Tunez and DJ Maphorisa, with Congolese-French artist GIMS billed as a special guest. The Piano People Stage remains the dedicated amapiano room, led by Kabza De Small and TxC, with Dlala Thukzin as special guest and 031Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Young Stunna and Zee Nxumalo also confirmed. The Afrotronic Stage lists Caiiro, Djeff, Jamiie, Aniko and JNR SA. Organizers say more artists will follow. The Phase 1 poster, which moved quickly after official posts and a PopCrave share, keeps the festival’s familiar high-contrast tropical look.

Tickets are sold only through afronation.com. Super early-bird general admission has already gone; the remaining early-bird three-day passes sit at about $407 including booking fees, with instalments on offer, and VIP and Golden Ticket packages – private-beach space, faster entry and the usual extras, cost more. Resale tickets are not accepted.

Nigeria has been a fixture on this bill since the first year, and this drop keeps that weight while widening the map toward Congolese rumba and soukous, Jamaican dancehall and South African house. Davido has headlined more than one previous edition, Rema topped the bill in 2024, and Fally Ipupa is a returning name as well. Last July’s programme, which included Burna Boy, Wizkid and Tyla among others, again filled the same stretch of sand. Organizers say the earlier window is meant to hold on to that beach while shifting only the calendar. The rest of the poster, and the later ticket phases, will come in the months ahead.
